Me and CDRC were guestlisted for the party at Silo last weekend and as you know a party was no party without a Panoramix Report! To start this report I'll begin with the very beginning, we went to Project Cyborg. Although their crowd was not that big they amused us with a great choice of songs, a good mix of hiphop and fidget and it was fun to hear their new and unreleased songs.

After Project Cyborg, We went to see The Bloody Beetroots, Bob and Tommy were ready to make the building explode. After their amazing set at I Love Techno they blew me away for the second time. Although their set was similar to the one at ILT, it was still a whole different experience: tracks were effortlessly thrown around and a bunch of different songs were added. the set had an eclectic feel to it. As usual they played a lot of their own stuff: Yeyo, Dimmakmunication, I Love The Bloody Beetroots, Cornelius, Heads Up remix and of course Warp (featuring Steve Aoki). Imagine these tracks in the mix with tracks of Foamo, The Proxy and Sound Of Stereo! One of my personal favourite moments was when Steve Aoki took the mic and started to sing on a fucking beat. A little story to prove that party was the keyword during their set: When they played Cornelius they were completely into it, they started crowdsurfing, together with Steve Aoki. In short: the atmosphere was magic! I LOVE THE BLOODY BEETROOTS!!
Foamo - Rockerman (Lee Mortimer Remix) (Mediafire)
After The Bloody Beetroots did their job, it was Steve Aoki’s turn. He started his set with Carmina Burana + I Love U of Larry Tee in the Bart B More remix followed by a lot of tracks which made the crowd go insane. By the way, I think Steve Aoki is a bit frustrated for not being a rockstar. Every time there were guitars in a song he started to shout and sing. It was the first time I saw him live but it will definitely not be my last. Steve Aoki knows how to party and he never keeps his eyes of the dancefloor and that’s what we, the crowd love! Thanks STEVE!

After the DIM MAK boys it was Brodinski’s turn. He blew me away at Soulwaxmas, but I didn’t check his set at I Love Techno, so I was very curious how this French wonderboy had changed over that period. And I have to admit I was surprised. His transitions were perfect, his playlist amazing. He played a very exclusive track only a few DJ’s got: Proxy’s Raven in Crookers Remix! I spoke to a few partypeople the day after and they all agreed: Brodinski was supah dupah!!

It was almost 7 o’ clock in the morning and party was almost over but Papy Harder and Mon Colonel were not done yet: wasted as they were, Party Harders did not give a fuck, not always on cue but always having fun!
Let’s make a summary:
Project Cyborg: PARTY
Bloody Beetroots: PARTY
Steve Aoki: PARTY
Brodinski: PARTY
Party Harders: PARTY
We also had the chance to interview two artist of the evening, first we talked to Project Cyborg, cool guys, and later on we had a chat with Papy Harder from Partyharders. Check it out:

How long have you been djing?
We’ve been doing this for 2 years now, before we made live electro but that was an awkward period, then when studying in Leuven for logistic reasons we switched to djing and still doing that.
But always with the two of you?
Yeah, always, we have a long history, we’ve done rockbands, live electro, now djing, and now we’re superfamous, that’s how fast it goes. (laughs)
Tell us something about your performances..
Well, we played at Silo, now again, we’ve won the “45 toeren”-dj-contest, we’ve won the contest at Pragatown, uhm we did the stadfeestzaal in Aarschot, and that’s was for about 2000 people!
Is there a record that you have to put in each set, that you always have with you?
No, I don’t think so, we don’t really have a favourite, we try to reinvent ourselves all the time, but lately, the last few months, we play Stupid Fresh a lot, we’re real fans of Stupid Fresh. There’s at least one of their songs that comes up in our set.
Ok, and you’ve remixed a few hiphopsongs, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and then Beastie Boys, we also noticed a hiphop influence in your set, is there a reason for that?
Yes, yes, there’s just nothing better than Dr. Dre. Did you ever see the Up In Smoke Tour of Dr. Dre? It starts of with a really hot girl mounting the stage, she dances and starts singing, and all of a sudden the stage opens up, and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg come out rollin’ in a lowrider. It doesn’t get crazier than that, a lowrider on stage and just banging music! (see visual)
So actually hiphop to feel a bit like a pimp?
(laughs) My girlfriend doesn’t like it, but yeah, kinda.
Are you busy producing some new stuff?
Yeah, we’re real busy,we’ve just finished a new one today, and we played three songs that we haven’t put on myspace yet, those will probably be released on Keatchen., we’re negotiating.
That’s all, just one more thing, we really enjoyed your set..
We were happy about it too, it was a small crowd, but as long as there are two hot chicks in the crowd, everything’s ok! Seen there are just two of us..(laughs) Although Maarten(Ceel) often more appreciates two chicks at the same time..(laughs)

Interview with Papy Harder of Partyharders Squad!Did you enjoy your set?
Yeah, it was amazing, but I think the late one will be even better. But this one was good for an opening set. It was a good atmosphere. We liked it.
How long have you been spinning with Mon Colonel?
We started Partyharders some three years ago. Mon Colonel was a spraypaint artist before and I was already djing for a long time. So it was new for him, but it worked!
You’re friends with the Bloody Beetroots and actually the whole Dim Mak Crew, how come?
Well, actually we were friends with Busy P first, and he introduced us to a lot of cool people, such as the guys from Dim Mak, and well know we’re good friends.
Not so long ago, you played with them in Treviso, Italy..
Yeah, that was an awesome gig, the crowd was crazy, the first two rows before the booth were wild, girls were flashing their tits, it was nice!
What was your biggest gig?
I think it was Dour, this year we went and it was like a crowd of 5000, so in attendance that was our biggest, but every gig has its charm.
Can we expect to see you at any festivals this summer?
Yeah, probably.. but we can’t say more, it’s still top secret.
And will partyharders maybe one day produce something?
Well, we were talking about that lately, the last month, we’re seriously thinking about remixes and productions, so you will probably hear something from us this summer.
