When I first heard his remix from Timbaland’s ‘Way I are’ I started to get interested in this Dj, he’s from Wervik, not far away from my hometown. After hearing his mash up from Crookers’ Bushman remix and Daft punk’s Technologic, he really caught my attention. His remix of Metallica’s ‘Master of puppets’ closed the fucking deal. First of all, can you tell us how your DJ-life evolved and when it started?
It all began when I was about 16 years old. I performed once in a while at local parties.
3 years ago I went to I Love Techno for the first time and I got to see Justice, Erol Alkan and Boys noize. I started to collect records and cd’s and I wanted to get involved with that kind of music, namely electro-techno. The next thing to do was to create a myspace to launch DJ Agmet.
I used to play more of the trashy electro songs, but nowadays I’m fond of Fidget House music.
Do you often feel like producing songs yourself instead of remixing and making mixtapes?
Yes, I actually would like to produce my own songs, but I’ve got no experience with that.
Until now I’ve been remixing songs and making mash-ups. Maybe some day I’ll let you all hear some songs of my own.
Where have you been performing already until now, and who have you been sharing the decks with?
So far, I’ve been playing at small parties and in small clubs.
Last year I was honored to share the decks with Goose, The Bloody Beetroots and Fredo & Thang.
By the way, that was the first time the Beetroots played in Belgium, and they unleashed a crazy set which made the crowd ecstatic.
These days, most of the time I share the decks with Soda & Suds and the RK’ed Kidz, Dj’s from Kortrijk, meanwhile they’ve become good friends.
The 23rd of January, I’ll be playing a set in ‘The Supermarket club’ in Rijsel (Lille) France. And on the 20th of March, I’ll perform at the Make-up club together with Strip Steve (Boys Noize records) and other local talents. I’m sure that’s going to be a hell of a party!
Who’s your personal favourite amongst the new DJ talents in Belgium?
At the moment, one of the biggest and newest talents in Belgium is definitely Sound of Stereo.
But there are many talents who aren’t well-known with the bigger audience, such as Mellow, he’s a producer who easily makes splendid songs of a good quality.
Ok last question, how many girls have you already seduced by telling them you’re a hot electro-Dj?
Oh, I seduced a girl once, and now she’s my girlfriend ;)
